Do you love the details? Are you interested in a career supporting sustainable funding for outdoor recreation? \u00a0We are looking for a Recreation Grants Manager to support recreation staff state-wide in pursuing funding and delivering on grant commitments. This position coordinates the grant application, tracking, billing, and reconciliation of up to 60 grants annually to maintain existing recreation sites, provide education and enforcement presence on DNR landscapes, and to develop new recreation sites and infrastructure for Washingtonians to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>DNR\u2019s recreation program consists of more than 160 sites including more than 80 campgrounds and 1200 miles of trails available for a diversity of users statewide. Many of these sites are developed or maintained utilizing grant funding that regional recreation staff apply for through competitive application processes. As the Recreation Grant Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the grant application process with regional staff, tracking and reconciling grant expenditures, and completing bi-annual billings for each grant. Additionally, the Recreation Grants Manager will support agency volunteer tracking and support, including, but not limited to, providing administrative direction for the Forest Watch program.<\/p>\n<p>A successful candidate will be detail oriented, proficient in word processing and database software, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. While much of your work will be in tracking complex expenditure data and coordinating application details, interpreting funder requirements and clearly and succinctly communicating these to regional staff and recreation program partners is of the utmost importance.Duties<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular tracking of monthly grant expenditures for each active grant.<\/li>\n<li>Communicating with grant funders, including the Recreation and Conservation Office about deadlines, requirements, and progress reports on a consistent basis.<\/li>\n<li>Providing expert guidance to regional staff and recreation partners about funding sources and grant requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating the timeline and submission expectations of grant application deadlines with all regional staff and DNR\u2019s planning team.<\/li>\n<li>Providing timely feedback on grant applications to ensure DNR recreation grant applications are consistently strong state-wide.<\/li>\n<li>Researching alternative funding sources to advise program leadership on new funding mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting volunteer Forest Watch program through running background checks, communicating with volunteers on expectations, and tracking volunteer hours.<\/li>\n<li>Receiving and reporting agency-wide volunteer data on a quarterly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting Recreation Policy Manager in volunteer program policy changes as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A bachelor\u2019s degree related to finance, environmental, natural resources\u00a0or related field from an accredited institution\u00a0AND one year of relevant professional experience.
