The chosen candidate would have opportunities to network with other nature\/outdoor ambassador groups to encourage diverse, equitable, and inclusive recreation opportunities in outdoor spaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Facilitate Working Groups comprised of community leaders and content experts as appropriate for specific projects. This will initially include a working group for the Santiam Wagon Road project and include members dedicated to the restoration of this historic site<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Develop interpretive\/conservation education and Forest Jr. Ranger programs for the Willamette National Forest and specific sites, including the Santiam Wagon Road<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Coordinate infographic information gathering to inform interpretive programs and panels<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Recruit and train forest interpretive volunteers<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Interact and engage with the public<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assess and enter program statistics and other captured data<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assist with other educational and interpretive programs as assigned, such as campground interpretive programs<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Work collaboratively with Cascade Volunteers and US Forest Service staff to accomplish events<\/p>\n<p>In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A sincere and genuine interest in engaging with visitors of all ages and diverse backgrounds<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience delivering interpretive programs<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Knowledge of broad themes in ecology and environmental education preferred. Historic, archaeological, and Tribal historical knowledge also desired<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A commitment to the mission of Cascade Volunteers and the US Forest Service<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Self-motivated, detail-orientated with strong written, verbal and organizational skills<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience facilitating meetings and leading working groups<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The ability to work independently and\/or with others<\/p>\n<p>Working Conditions:<\/p>\n<p>This position will be roughly 80% in an office environment at a computer and 20% serving in the field. Some weekend or evening shifts may be required.<\/p>\n<p>Onboarding:<\/p>\n<p>We will conduct reference checks as part of our recruitment process.
