The Logistics Coordinator (LC) is a crucial member of that team and works under the direct supervision of the Associate Logistics Manager. This position is perfect for the detail-oriented individual who enjoys feeding people, seeing projects through to a thorough and timely completion and making things happen behind the scenes. The Logistics Coordinator directly manages the equipment, food, and transportation for courses 5-65 days in length.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who You Are<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a deep understanding and personal commitment to equity and inclusion in the outdoors<\/li>\n<li>Able to work independently with little guidance from supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Skilled at managing small groups of people<\/li>\n<li>Able to work as a team member in a collaborative environment<\/li>\n<li>Maintains a positive attitude while working outdoors, regardless of weather or season<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable with general camping skills, camping in mountain environments, and spending approximately 20% of work time at overnight course events (field-based course starts, course ends, and mid-course resupplies)<\/li>\n<li>Proficient at basic computer use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical &amp; Mental Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sufficiently fit to participate in all site- and logistics-related course activities while maintaining ample energy, strength, and focus to aid students and instructors<\/li>\n<li>Able to carry weights of up to 60 pounds<\/li>\n<li>Can be on feet most days, sometimes for long hours early or late in the day<\/li>\n<li>Able to maintain composure, exercise sound judgment and decision-making, and assess and mitigate risk under extended periods of stress<\/li>\n<li>Able to operate a vehicle for 8-10 hours a day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Also you&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are 21 years of age or older<\/li>\n<li>Have held a current United States Driver License for at least three years and possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Upon Hire<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Willing to authorize a federal background check, MVR check, Live Scan background check, and provide current negative TB test results upon hire (cost of all screening paid for or reimbursed by OBCA)<\/li>\n<li>Willing to acquire California Class C Commercial Driving License upon hire with assistance from supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Hold or willing to obtain a current Standard First Aid (8-hour training), CPR, and California Food Handler certifications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bonus if you\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are a proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Adobe, and G Suite (Gmail and Google Docs, Drive, and Calendar)<\/li>\n<li>Able to perform basic equipment repair<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable driving trailer up to 12 feet in length<\/li>\n<li>Hold a current Wilderness First Responder certification<\/li>\n<li>Have prior experience driving in a professional setting<\/li>\n<li>Have prior experience implementing organizational systems<\/li>\n<li>Have field experience with outdoor education programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the delivery of the Outward Bound mission and educational framework through all food, gear and transportation logistics for several courses in the field at once<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the issue, de-issue, and maintenance of the High Sierra program outdoor equipment, including gear repair, laundry, and inventory management<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the basic maintenance and upkeep of base facilities; provide kitchen support as needed or assigned<\/li>\n<li>Transport instructional staff and supplies to and from course functions and support field evacuation transportation needsMaintain an excellent driving record<\/li>\n<li>Perform routine vehicle inspections<\/li>\n<li>Take regular inventory of food and equipment, and support in end-of-season inventory<\/li>\n<li>Consistently strive to give and receive quality feedback with colleagues and supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Use appropriate language and behavior while acting as a role model for students<\/li>\n<li>Participate in all required trainings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation &amp; Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a Seasonal, Exempt position<\/li>\n<li>Starting Per Diem wage is $120\/day<\/li>\n<li>Room and board provided while on contract<\/li>\n<li>Training begins during second week of May<\/li>\n<li>Contracted to work 50 &#8211;
