This position serves as the Fruit and Vegetable Incentives Program Assistant for the Fruit and Vegetable Incentives Program (FVIP), located in the Healthy Eating Active Living Unit in the Office of Healthy and Safe Communities. This role supports FVIP by coordinating programmatic processes, monitoring and maintain data, and communicating with and participants and stakeholders about program outreach efforts.<\/p>\n

We work with other organizations across the state to offer incentives that make fruits and vegetables easier to obtain for people who use SNAP\/Basic Food\/EBT. You will support the Department of Health’s mission to protect and improve all people’s health in Washington State by promoting policy, systems, and environmental changes to improve access to healthy foods at the state and local levels. This position also collaborates with our partners and stakeholders to enhance the health of individuals, families, and communities.

\nThe Healthy Eating Active Living Program unit strives to reduce the burden of obesity and chronic disease and increase the proportion of Washingtonians with a healthy weight. We work on equitable and sustainable solutions to improve nutrition, increase physical activity, and support breastfeeding in early learning, schools, communities, worksites, healthcare, and faith-based settings.

\nThe duty station for this position is Tumwater, WA. \u00a0Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telework (mobile-work) is currently expected. \u00a0When approved to return, the incumbents are expected to report to the duty station for work activities. \u00a0Partial telecommuting may be an option subject to supervisory approval.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
