Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, located in Everett, Washington.<\/p>\n<p>This position is responsible for the development, organization, planning, and implementation of programs including recreation, trails, wilderness, related programs, and database systems.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information about the duties of this position, please contact Mike Schlafmann, 760-709-1264 or email at <a href=\"mailto:mike.schlafmann@usda.gov\">mike.schlafmann@usda.gov<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<div id=\"duties\">\n<ul class=\"usajobs-list-bullets\">\n<li>Provides professional advice and support in the development, organization, planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation, trails, wilderness, and related programs, and project activities.<\/li>\n<li>Assures all program management activities remain responsive to identified customer needs.<\/li>\n<li>Develops and maintains effective external cooperative relationships with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, conservation groups, private foundations, and others interested in partnering with the Forest Service.<\/li>\n<li>Leads efforts to periodically update recreation sites and facilities databases.<\/li>\n<li>Updating databases involves ensuring Infra and other recreation databases are complete with current data and following established procedures for conducting periodical updates, using computerized information management (database) systems<\/li>\n<li>Works with the RO, Public Services Staff Officer (PSSO), and Public Affairs Officer to compile the information, write, and provide accomplishment reports.<\/li>\n<li>This position oversees the monitoring and evaluation of the Wilderness and Recreation Site Monitoring Plan, annual Forest Plan monitoring for Recreation and Trails, as per the Forest monitoring plans.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzes projects to develop, organize, and write National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) documents for the assigned programs.<\/li>\n<li>Researches, coordinates, develops, and writes grants with Forest Service units and partners to implement projects for the wilderness program.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares long-range planning and project work plans, coordinating project work with other personnel and work plans.<\/li>\n<li>Creates a work environment which respects, appreciates, and accepts contributions and perspectives of all employees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"travelrequired\">\n<h2 class=\"usajobs-joa-section__header\">Requirements<\/h2>\n<h3>Conditions of Employment<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"usajobs-list-bullets\">\n<li>Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.<\/li>\n<li>Males born after 12\/31\/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.<\/li>\n<li>Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and\/or fingerprint check.<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.<\/li>\n<li>Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.<\/li>\n<li>Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
