This is a part-time, non-permanent contract position that will work within the Program Support team, performing basic quality checks and publishing of GIS and CRM data, as well as assisting the GIS Program Manager in utilizing GIS data for quantitative analysis, map publishing, and supporting District programs with other basic technical support services.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">About the Pierce Conservation District<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Pierce Conservation District is government that works. When you join the Pierce Conservation District staff, you join a team of talented and committed people who are mission-driven and care deeply about improving our environment and our community.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Primary Job Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">The Data Technician reports to the Climate Resiliency Program Manager\/GIS Program Manager, and is responsible for the following:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Quality check and convert data collected from field operations and program strategic data tracking into GIS and CRM databases with proper and accurate spatial location<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Geocode and tag address information<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Coordinate data synthesis and collection of data across programs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Assist with the design of GIS program data dictionaries, which includes metadata, projection setting, field settings, and domains<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Assist with the data conceptual design and classification of organizational rules for a Customer Relationship Management system<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Manage permissions and publishing schedules to SQL, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online Systems for online and offline use<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Qualifications<\/span><\/strong><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">We\u2019re seeking candidates who are adaptable, team-oriented, and engaging. You should have:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">30 hours of completed college course work related to GIS or other data management techniques\/training<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Thorough, detail and goal oriented, and understands the \u201cbig picture\u201d of database management and design<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Good communicator, explicit and timely responsiveness to task work, and thrives in collaborative team environments<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\">Desired Skills<\/strong><\/b><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Certificate or college degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS or closely related field<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">One year of experience in GIS database\/mapping\/other data management systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Ability to collect, analyze and summarize GIS data<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Ability to georeference\/geocode data<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Basic knowledge of cartographic design<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Proficient in Microsoft Office software<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Exposure to the conservation field industry<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Good written and oral communication skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Organization and time management skills<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong style=\"font-style: inherit\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Physical Requirements and Working Conditions<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/b><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit\">Work will occur largely within an office or remote work setting, with the potentiality of in field locations (e.g. farm, riparian, and urban properties). The Technician must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions. Applicable field gear and equipment will be provided by PCD.
