Our programs foster a sense of belonging that develop the skills, confidence, and curiosity to thrive in the outdoors and in everyday life. Our mission:<br \/>\nTo develop grit in all youth through challenging outdoor adventures.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description:<\/strong><br \/>\nY.E.T.I. is based in Normandy Park, WA and mainly works with students in the Highline School District (DesMoines, Burien, SeaTac). The program manager will be in charge of supervising and training volunteer trip leaders, as well as supporting trip prep, execution and review. Strong candidates will have experience in youth based outdoor programs, curriculum, and risk management development. The position will start with a focus on field work, and as programming expands, transition into supervision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:<\/strong> 9\u200b month position following the academic year, flexible hours averaging 20-25 hours a week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Date:<\/strong> \u200bApplications reviewed on January 22nd<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>Volunteer Program Management<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Recruit, screen, and train volunteers.<br \/>\n\u25cf Track and schedule volunteers.<br \/>\n\u25cf Develop and carry out training of volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekend Outdoor Recreation Program<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Work with community partners and ED to schedule day trip programs.<br \/>\n\u25cf Organize and implement trip logistics.<br \/>\n\u25cf Complete pre- and post-trip communications with students and families.<br \/>\n\u25cf Lead trips and coordinate volunteer instructors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>School Outdoor Club<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Assist in development and staffing for school outdoor clubs.<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist in development and delivery of outdoor club curriculum.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support program evaluation and metrics.<br \/>\n\u25cf Supervise volunteers &amp; support community partnerships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equipment and Operations<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Assist with inventory and maintenance of outdoor equipment.<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist in evaluating and developing course areas.<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist in developing and updating risk management systems.<br \/>\n\u25cf Develop and implement curriculum.<br \/>\n\u25cf Help maintain student records.<br \/>\n\u25cf Help maintain permit records.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support summer program planning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Duties<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Support with marketing and communications.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support with fundraising and grants.<br \/>\n\u25cf Other duties as needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Job Skills<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf 5 years of experience in leading outdoor trips with youth<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience working with diverse student populations<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to work outside in all weather and conditions<br \/>\n\u25cf Strong leadership and risk management skills<br \/>\n\u25cf Strong verbal and written skills<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to learn and maintain database system<br \/>\n\u25cf Wilderness First Responder training<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to pass driver screening and operate a 15 passenger van<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Job Skills<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Bachelor&#8217;s degree in related field preferred master degree in recreation or education<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience with curriculum development<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience developing risk management systems<br \/>\n\u25cf Grant writing experience<br \/>\n\u25cf Industry certifications (rock climbing, sea kayaking, rafting, avalanche etc.)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background Check:<\/strong><br \/>\nWe run a background check on all employees and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><br \/>\nCompetitive compensation of $19-$24 \/ hour depending on experience and flexible work schedule<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer:<\/strong><br \/>\nY.E.T.I. is committed to creating a diverse working environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
