The treatment facility operates 24\/7, there are always improvements that can be made. That body of work translates into a long-term career for someone with the analytical aptitude to perform these higher-level assessments.<\/p>\n<p>Core Daily Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop program and emergency plans, objectives and strategies. Determine appropriate<br \/>\nimplementation and monitor progress.<br \/>\n\u2022 Evaluate business practices and assist in establishing appropriate service and staffing levels<br \/>\nallocating resources to devise the most efficient methods of accomplishing work.<br \/>\n\u2022 Based on asset management principles, plan optimize and document the operation of major systems within the treatment facility.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and monitor budgets and authorize purchases within limits of authority.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assign, review, and approve the work of subordinate staff; investigate grievances involving<br \/>\nsubordinates and recommend resolutions; recommend hiring, promotional and disciplinary actions; approve leave requests and overtime; provide adequate coverage during staff absences. Provide on-the-job training to newly assigned or reassigned employees.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and coordinate the implementation of changes.<\/p>\n<p>A classification description with a more detailed list of essential function can be found here.<br \/>\nQUALIFICATIONS:<br \/>\nMinimum Qualifications<br \/>\nSix years of progressively responsible work experience in a wastewater treatment facility, which includes:<br \/>\nTwo years of lead or supervisory experience OR<br \/>\nAny equivalent combination of education and experience which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position is required.<br \/>\nPreferred Qualifications:<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s degree in a related field is highly desired<br \/>\nPossession of a Washington State Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator\u2019s Certificate preferred<br \/>\nProject Management and Budget Experience<br \/>\nSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\nAs a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check.
