Additional duties include classifying wetlands, noting wetland habitat features, and identifying areas for investigation using aerial maps, soil surveys, the National Wetland Inventory, and other resources. \u00a0This position will also assist with data management, GIS mapping, analysis, and quality control.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Limited-term with a maximum of 1400 hours per calendar year (25 to 40 hours per week).<\/p>\n<p>Start Date: February 2021<\/p>\n<p>End Date: Current funding is available through June 30, 2021. \u00a0If the requested budget for Fiscal Year 21-22 is approved, funding will extend through June 30, 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Skills and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Trained in wetland delineation methodology by attending a training course.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience conducting on-site wetland determinations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Experience conducting off-site wetland determinations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Knowledge of wetland plants and plant communities found west of the Cascades.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ability to key out unfamiliar plants to species.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Familiarity with ESRI Collector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Familiarity with iPads\/iOS and Tablets running Android OS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Familiarity with Microsoft OneDrive and cloud computing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access to complete data management and analysis.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Strong sense of organization and responsibility with an ability to work as part of a team and individually.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree, or currently enrolled and working towards a degree, with course work in environmental science, botany, soil science, hydrology or similar disciplines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>City of Portland Core Values:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anti-racism | Communication | Collaboration | Equity | Transparency | Fiscal Responsibility<\/p>\n<p>These values guide our actions as we serve the community and engage our workforce.
