You will find a subset of those SIP positions posted here each December about opportunities that will be available for the following summer. Below is a list of the\u00a0<strong>SIP Fellows Projects<\/strong>\u00a0for Summer 2021 managed in partnership with the Ecological Society of America. Fellow?<\/h3>\n<p>Scientists in Parks Fellow projects have additional requirements regarding advanced skills, seasonal availability, and academic status. Applicants are highly encouraged to carefully read all eligibility requirements below and as stated in each of the individual project announcements to determine which project is right for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To be eligible for SIP Fellows, applicants must be:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>U.S. citizen, 30 years of age or younger (or a veteran up to age 35)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Enrolled as an upper-level undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate (Masters or PhD) student that will not graduate prior to finishing your position (check each project description to determine the estimated dates of completion)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicant has already earned their undergraduate degree and is not currently enrolled, but has applied to attend graduate school beginning Fall 2021*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>* In the event that you are selected for a position, proof of acceptance in the form of enrollment into a graduate program for Fall 2021 will be required before the position is awarded.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-4\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>The Ecological Society of America is an equal opportunity employer. All current projects and corresponding eligibility requirements may be found at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/scientistsinparks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scientistsinparks.com<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-8\">\n<h3 id=\"direct-hire\">Direct Hire Authority<\/h3>\n<p>The Scientists in Parks Fellows operates under the Department of the Interior\u2019s (DOI) Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Resource Assistant Internship Programs, which means that students who excel in their internships and then subsequently complete their undergraduate or graduate degree requirements are eligible to be hired without competition into permanent positions within the National Park Service and other select bureaus of the Department of the Interior for which they are qualified. Non-competitive hiring status for a SIP Fellow remains in effect for two years following graduation.
