Contribute to the increase in pace and scale of forest restoration at a time when it is critically needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: The Fellowship positions will be located in the Sierra.\u00a0 We are currently hiring for one position based in Chico, CA and one position based in Mammoth Lakes or Bishop, CA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time Commitment:<\/strong> Full time, 40 hours\/week from January\/February &#8211; December 2021.\u00a0 All Fellows are required to commit to the full term of their Fellowship position.\u00a0 Paid holidays, accrued vacation and sick leave are also included in this time commitment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong> Each Fellowship Position has unique requirements related to the position\u2019s function and these will be included in the Host Site specific position descriptions when they become available.\u00a0 The Sierra Corps Program has the following general requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum High School Diploma or GED (higher education degrees are strongly recommended)<\/li>\n<li>Must be a minimum of 18 years old and able to pass criminal background check<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong> The following are skills specific desired qualifications for all Sierra Corps Fellowship positions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or other related field OR at least 2 years of forestry vocational training and education<\/li>\n<li>At least 1 year of experience with forest health monitoring and assessment<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years combined experience in:\n<ul>\n<li>forest health monitoring and assessment<\/li>\n<li>conservation planning and project management<\/li>\n<li>environmental analysis and research<\/li>\n<li>grant writing<\/li>\n<li>stakeholder engagement and collaborative facilitation across diverse array of partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of CEQA\/NEPA regulations and documentation<\/li>\n<li>Strong desire to work in a forest health related career, ideally in the Sierra<\/li>\n<li>Passion for conservation of the Sierra<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Chico position requires that candidates that have experience leading field crews and operating chainsaws for forest restoration purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The Mammoth position requires that candidates have experience managing projects independently, working with diverse stakeholders, and experience with California and Sierra forest restoration principles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$16-19\/hr with employer-provided Health Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Paid Holidays, accrued personal leave, and accrued vacation time.<\/li>\n<li>$1,500 training and education stipend to be used during the Fellowship term.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications will be accepted until positions are filled but the priority deadline is December 13 at 5:00pm PST.
