Position Description<\/p>\n

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) has an internship opportunity for\u00a0either a 2-4 year<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/strong>graduate level<\/strong>\u00a0student to learn and support the\u00a0Environmental Justice and Service Equity (EJSE) Division<\/a>\u00a0staff in achieving its business objectives, service equity goals and SPU’s Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) work plan objectives.<\/p>\n

The student will work to support SPU in realizing the City of Seattle\u2019s Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) goals through internally-focused efforts managed by the Environmental Justice and Service Equity (EJSE) Division including: staff survey administration and data analysis (including Women and Minority-owned Business Enterprise “WMBE” data); SPU customer and program qualitative and quantitative evaluation and analysis; application of GIS to SPU customer-driven data; participation in racial equity toolkit and contractor selection processes; participation in SPU-wide and line of business-specific team meetings; developing and editing of employee newsletters (WMBE and Branch Equity Teams) and web articles; documentation of lesson learned; and support in developing yearend Community Connections report and organizing and tracking ongoing community connections data.<\/p>\n

The projected start date for the internship is mid-January 2021. This internship is for up to 18 months or graduation, whichever comes first.<\/p>\n
