As the global COVID-19 pandemic continues, educators, students, and parents are adapting to the new normal of\u00a0distance\/remote learning.\u00a0To provide support for learners in Washington, we are offering a new service for the 2020-21 school year: wildlife-themed curriculum for elementary, middle school, and high school students.<\/p>\n
Our Wild Washington lessons\u00a0incorporate disciplines ranging from math and science to art and literature. Lessons align with the\u00a0Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0state and national\u00a0environmental and sustainability learning\u00a0standards.\u00a0See the table below for a schedule of when lessons will be available for each age group.<\/p>\n Wild Washington lessons\u00a0have modifications embedded for distance learning, but are also developed for teachers to use when Washington students return back to their classrooms.<\/strong><\/p>\n We want to hear from you!\u00a0<\/strong>Please provide your feedback on the Wild Washington lessons using this\u00a0short survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lessons will introduce learners to relevant ecological and wildlife-based issues throughout the state. The interactive activities and lesson plans aim to increase problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a variety of disciplines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Lessons build on\u00a03-5th grade concepts and introduce students to careers involving natural sciences.
