\u00a0Are you looking for a way to work within government to advance racial equity? \u00a0Do you have a track record for bringing people together to find and advance solutions? \u00a0Does the idea of prioritizing racial justice in climate-related programs, align with your personal mission? \u00a0If so, please consider applying to be the Equity &amp; Environment Manager at the Office of Sustainability &amp; Environment (OSE).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>As the Equity &amp; Environment Manager you will bring strong supervisory, policy, and stakeholder engagement skills to implement the City of Seattle\u2019s Equity &amp; Environment Initiative. \u00a0The Initiative has three primary goals:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All people and communities\u2019 benefit from Seattle environmental progress<\/li>\n<li>Communities most impacted by environmental injustice are engaged in setting environmental priorities, designing strategies, and tracking progress<\/li>\n<li>People of color, immigrants and refugees, people with low incomes, and limited-English proficiency individuals have opportunities to be part of and leaders in the environmental movement and to shape and lead on environmental priorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will report to the Climate Justice Director and serve on the Office\u2019s leadership team.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Job Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p><u>To be prepared for this role, you have experience:<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing and leading a project, program, or agenda successfully with high levels of complexity<\/li>\n<li>Serving as a strategic advisor to peers and leadership<\/li>\n<li>Being a thought leader on equity and environmental justice issues<\/li>\n<li>Holding colleagues accountable to incorporate and prioritize racial justice<\/li>\n<li>Establishing accountability indicators<\/li>\n<li>Supervising and developing staff<\/li>\n<li>Providing strategic guidance and recommendations to executive leadership<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring involvement and leadership of people of color, people of low incomes, immigrants and refugees, limited-English proficiency individuals, and Native people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>You have demonstrated success:<\/u><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing and overseeing budgets, consultant contracts, and grant agreements<\/li>\n<li>Navigating complex political situations<\/li>\n<li>Working across diverse communities and building strong partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Convening internal and external stakeholders to discuss and find solutions to environmental equity challenges<\/li>\n<li>Creating policies which advance change<\/li>\n<li>Representing your organization at conferences and events<\/li>\n<li>Making compelling presentations that work for a variety of audiences<\/li>\n<li>Fostering a learning culture<\/li>\n<li>Persevering despite various challenges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>A successful applicant will have a professional career that reflects a commitment to building collaborative, productive, and respectful relationships among community members, public institutions, and an array of organizations. \u00a0This career orientation should be complemented by demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in the following areas:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advancing change<\/li>\n<li>Equity and environmental justice<\/li>\n<li>Organizing and advocacy within communities<\/li>\n<li>Collaboration and relationship building<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating shared goals and priorities and collective action<\/li>\n<li>Delivering outcomes in a political and fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>Communication, writing, and presentation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional Information<\/p>\n<p>To be considered, complete the online application fully and attach a:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current resume<\/li>\n<li>Cover letter explaining your interest in this work and examples that demonstrate your experience advancing solutions centered on Equity and Environmental Justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Questions?
