We are currently seeking an experienced individual with a background in digital communications and a strong interest in marine conservation to support the development of new communication and education projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a new collaborative marine reserve newsletter in Mailchimp<\/li>\n<li>Develop digital content for social media, including graphics and written content<\/li>\n<li>Support development and design of marine education activity guide<\/li>\n<li>Research and present creative ideas for fundraising<\/li>\n<li>Support planning of virtual educational events<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous projects and assignments as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reports to: Co-Managed by Oregon Policy Manager and Oregon Field Manager<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree<\/li>\n<li>Experience using WordPress, Mailchimp, Facebook, and Instagram<\/li>\n<li>Experience\/Comfort working with light digital design programs<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work flexible hours<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively from a remote home office<\/li>\n<li>Ability to be highly organized with strong follow through<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently<\/li>\n<li>Educational experience in environmental or marine science and\/or related fields is extremely beneficial and preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TO APPLY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please email a cover letter and resume to:<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Plybon: <a href=\"mailto:cplybon@surfrider.org\">cplybon@surfrider.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Subject Title: \u201cMarine Conservation Communications Internship\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for receiving resumes: Friday, November 20, 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEI COMMITMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Surfrider Foundation is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization for all people who protect and enjoy the world\u2019s ocean, waves, and beaches.
