Urban Forestry Permitting and Regulation Supervisors are key leadership positions overseeing the City of Portland\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.portlandoregon.gov\/citycode\/66002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tree Code<\/a>\u00a0regulations to implement the Urban Forest Management Plan and manage the City\u2019s urban canopy. These positions are skilled at working with a variety of people, negotiating complex permitting and regulatory situations and providing innovative program oversight.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\nAbout the work:<\/p>\n<p>The Permitting Supervisors will demonstrate tact, diplomacy and patience with strong people-management skills to create a professional, cohesive and high-performing team with a service-oriented work ethic. The incumbent will work closely with the Permitting &amp; Regulation Manager, Operations Team, City Forester and public agencies to manage programmatic permits, residential tree permits, and city tree permits for regulatory compliance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Development Supervisor:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Oversee a team who performs private and capital\u00a0development\u00a0plan review, draft findings, perform field-based tree condition and tree preservation assessments, investigate tree code violations and consistently enforce development tree code regulations city-wide (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.portlandoregon.gov\/citycode\/66010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chapter 11.50<\/a>\u00a0of the Tree Code).
