This program is evaluating the\u00a0possible\u00a0use of the Incompatible Insect Technique to suppress mosquito populations at a landscape-scale in Hawai\u2018i. The program\u2019s goal is to advance this technology to protect Hawai\u2018i\u2019s native forest birds from avian malaria.\u00a0The Outreach Associate will work with representatives from a\u00a0broad coalition of state, federal, and private\/NGO entities\u00a0including\u00a0communications specialists from across the state, as well as the American Bird Conservancy\u2019s Project Coordinator and Hawai\u2018i Program Director. Work will include\u00a0conducting\u00a0virtual and in-person\u00a0outreach\u00a0and education activities\u00a0and engagement activities involving the public,\u00a0internal and external\u00a0stakeholders,\u00a0elected officialsand others.
