Take the lead in hydropower licensing review and mitigation \u00a0implementation in eastern Oregon, as well as leading the review of new proposed water uses in eastern Oregon.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b><u>What you will do:<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">\u2022 Responsible for implementation of the department&#8217;s hydropower program for hydropower projects located in the East Region in Oregon that require state and\/or federal licenses. S\/he will coordinate the region&#8217;s and district&#8217;s involvement in consultation with fish and wildlife divisions. The Hydropower Coordinator will work with state and federal agencies, tribes, and interest groups to coordinate, develop, and lead department comments, negotiations and related activities on existing and proposed hydropower projects in the region and is responsible for monitoring compliance with hydropower project license provisions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">\n<b>Working Conditions <\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">\u2022 Occasional long hours and meetings involving complex, controversial and sensitive technical and policy issues and legal actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Occasional field work, at times during inclement weather along boulder strewn streams, steep banks, and at hydroelectric projects with situations near motorized or power driven equipment.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Frequent automobile travel to single or several day meetings around the region or state.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">\u2022 Requires a flexible work schedule that varies in the number of hours worked on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day, or a work schedule in which the starting and stopping times vary on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day. This includes working at all hours and workdays in excess of eight hours. Work <span class=\"WNP2\">occasional\u00a0weekends<\/span> with overnight stays.\n<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b>Criminal Records\/DMV Check<\/b><br \/>\nApplicants\u00a0are subject to both a\u00a0criminal history and motor vehicles check. <b>Out-of-state finalists will be required to present a current <u>certified<\/u> driving record for review to be considered for the position. ODFW is not able to support VISA sponsorships.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><u><b>We are seeking applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and have the following skills and experience: <\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b>Minimum Qualifications:<\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">\u2022 Three years of biological, ecological or hydrological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fisheries, hydrology, water management, stream ecology or related program. At least one year of the experience must be at a technical or professional level performing activities such as researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities; <b>AND<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0A Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Fisheries, Hydrology, Water Management, Stream Ecology or a closely-related Bachelor&#8217;s degree with at least 45 quarter (30 semester) hours of <span class=\"WNP2\">biological\/ecological\/hydrological<\/span> coursework, <b>or<\/b> three additional years of biological, ecological or hydrological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fisheries, hydrology, water management, stream ecology or related program.<\/p>\n<p>A Master&#8217;s degree in Fisheries, Hydrology, Water Management, Stream Ecology or a closely related Master&#8217;s degree in <span class=\"WNP2\">biological\/ecological\/hydrological<\/span> sciences will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.<\/p>\n<p>A Doctorate degree in Fisheries, Hydrology, Water Management, Stream Ecology or a closely related Doctorate degree in <span class=\"WNP2\">biological\/ecological\/hydrological<\/span> sciences will substitute for up to two years of the required experience.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants who have obtained a Master&#8217;s degree or Doctorate that included work experience from an internship, work\/study, thesis, or similar program may list this experience in their application to receive credit for the work experience.
