You must apply to each announcement separately if you wish to be considered under both recruitment methods.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<div id=\"duties\">\n<p>\n<strong>Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and\/or supervise others in the evaluation of wildlife management and research activities.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate wildlife resource management activities between offices to ensure wildlife management objectives are met and reduce conflicts.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a representative at agency and interagency meetings to present technical information pertaining to migratory bird population issues.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate a regionally focused conservation partnership program.<\/li>\n<li>Provide supervision and oversight, including work prioritization, when necessary, to a multi-disciplinary professional staff performing a variety of natural resource program functions and activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kenai NWR headquarters is located on the Kenai Peninsula in Soldotna, AK. Soldotna is located on the Kenai River, one of the most popular sport fishing destination in Alaska. Soldotna experiences mild summers and relatively warm winters. Temperature variances between the seasons are commonly -9 to 65\u00baF.<\/p>\n<p>This position provides Refuge management with science based recommendations regarding management on a large, landscape-scale Alaska national wildlife refuge in support of meeting refuge purposes. Provides oversight and direction to the refuge biological program directly supervising 6 biologists\/ecologists, and leadership in fostering partnerships with other agencies, organizations, academia and the broader scientific community.
