Our organization is volunteer based and organized by congressional districts.\u00a0 CCL staff train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials and the media to empower their own local communities, generate the political will for fair, effective climate solutions in line with science and political viability.\u00a0 CCL prides itself in its unique approach to educating elected officials on climate action, particularly bipartisan action.\u00a0 We aim to build upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering our supporters to work in keeping with the concerns of their local communities. Fellowships at staff locations are supervised and trained by CCL\/CCE staff. We do not suggest relocating for this fellowship and we do not provide any housing or relocation assistance. Fellows receive:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The opportunity to earn a Certificate of Completion in climate advocacy\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Free registration to the Citizens\u2019 Climate International Conference\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Academic credit is possible with approval from the student\u2019s academic advisor<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>POSITION REPORTS TO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Clara Fang, Student Engagement Director<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b>SCHEDULE\/TIME COMMITMENT: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">8 hours a week for one calendar year\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b>LOCATION: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The job will be performed remotely but intern should be living in or attending school in one of the Northwest states: Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>PAYMENT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $1,000<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><b>Training\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Participate in CCL\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tfaforms.com\/4855627\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Climate Advocacy Training Program<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Working with Student Groups (with Clara Fang)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Conduct outreach to higher education institutions about climate opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Research college and university contacts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Recruit Campus Leaders and students to join CCL.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interview Campus Leader applicants.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Train and support up to 10 Campus Leaders to start climate campaigns or CCL chapters.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hold semi-weekly calls with Campus Leaders.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend regional fellow semi-weekly calls.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Update volunteer information in membership database.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other tasks as needed.<\/span><b><\/b>\n<p><b>Advocacy\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Write and submit LTEs to local publications.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make appointments with members of Congress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prepare materials for lobby meetings.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend a lobby meeting with a local chapter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Engage on social media with members of Congress.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Regional Conference\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist with programming and speaker arrangements.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist with venue and logistics.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create promotional materials.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Conduct outreach to recruit students to attend the conference.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Preparing resource materials before and share during the Conference.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Welcoming attendees and answering questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Support\u00a0 attendees in connecting to the sessions they choose.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend breakout sessions as a co-host, which includes being the point of contact between the speaker(s) and the Conference Team, making materials available, helping with the Question &amp;
