This\u00a0 position is responsible for implementing and managing an applied agricultural contract research program. See our website at www.agrimgt.com.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities and Duties Include:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Overseeing all replicated research and un\u2010replicated demonstration (R&amp;D) field trials performed\u00a0 at Agrimanagement<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Marketing to find new client relationships and retain existing customers<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Working closely with clients and understand their needs for research<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Working closely with cooperators for plot placement and data collection of research trials<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Creating trial protocols or concisely follow specific client protocols<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Train technicians to follow specific protocol directions<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Plot setup and data collection<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Providing periodic updates to clients<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Providing written reports to clients in a timely manner<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Present commodity group research results at meetings<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Job Requirements and Skills:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Possess a Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Entomology, Plant Pathology,\u00a0 Weed Science, or other applicable agricultural science degree<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 3+ years experience in applied agricultural field research and\/or R&amp;D trials<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Technical understanding of applied agricultural research, including formatting protocols,\u00a0\u00a0 appropriate placement and arrangements of field plots, coordinating data collection, report\u00a0 writing and statistical analysis (when appropriate)<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Possess or have the ability to obtain a Washington State pesticide license in the categories of\u00a0 \u201cCommercial Pest Control Consultant\u201d and \u201cDemonstration and Research Applicator\u201d within 90\u00a0 days of hiring\u00a0 Contract<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Understanding of pesticide safety and ability to work with and apply registered and unregistered\u00a0 organic and conventional pesticides and plant health promoters in a safe and appropriate manner<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Ability to wear PPE, including a full faced respirator<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Ability to work long hours and in all climatic conditions (hot, cold, wind, or rain)<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Is personable and can work closely with clients, cooperators and team members<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Is a team player and is willing to help other staff with tasks when needed and when time allows<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Is a self\u2010starter and has the ability to seize opportunities and move projects forward with minimal\u00a0 direction<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Possesses effective problem\u2010solving skills<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Clear and concise oral and written communication skills<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Proficient computer skills including the use of MS Office tools<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Proficient with statistics<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Possess a valid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Other Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Knowledge of various crops grown in the Pacific Northwest<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Experience with hiring, training and managing employees<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Working knowledge of ARM<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Proficient use of R statistical package<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Grant writing ability<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Bilingual: English\u2010Spanish<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Compensation and Benefits:<\/p>\n<p>Agrimanagement offers a compensation package is competitive to the agricultural service industry and\u00a0 will include:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Salary commensurate with experience<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Accrued paid vacation and holidays<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Paid Sick leave<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Employee health insurance plan with HSA<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 SIMPLE IRA with matching funds<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Company profit sharing incentive plan<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for submission: December 4, 2020<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>To apply:\u00a0\u00a0To be considered for the position, please include a\u00a0 current resume, cover letter, and transcripts from all\u00a0 educational institutions attended.
