{"id":35212,"date":"2020-11-04T12:50:22","date_gmt":"2020-11-04T20:50:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=35212"},"modified":"2020-11-04T12:50:24","modified_gmt":"2020-11-04T20:50:24","slug":"job-fire-management-specialist-us-fish-and-wildlife-service-burbank-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-fire-management-specialist-us-fish-and-wildlife-service-burbank-wa\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Fire Management Specialist, US Fish and Wildlife Service (Burbank, WA)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"job-frame-description-content\">\n<p>Job Type Permanent<\/p>\n<p>Salary Details $64,009 to $85,801 per year<\/p>\n<p>Deadline Nov 16, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At the direction of the Fire Management Officer, (FMO) assists in planning and directing fire management program activities.<\/li>\n<li>Analyzes fire management plans and makes recommendations to meet the changing conditions within the limits of current or anticipated funding.<\/li>\n<li>As assigned, completes discrete phases of fire and aviation management plans.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews and provides input into preparedness and operating plans used in the management of wildland fires.<\/li>\n<li>Develops alternative wildland fire strategies and select the appropriate alternative.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that the fuels management program is consistent with ecosystem management principles and land use plans.<\/li>\n<li>Provides recommendations for the prioritization of fire hazard reduction and fuels management projects.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews and evaluates fuels management and other fire management plans to ensure plan components meet specific ecosystem and resource management objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates and directs fire management staff on the implementation of fire and aviation management policies, standards, methods, and guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Develops and oversees the implementation of interagency fire prevention plans.<\/li>\n<li>Briefs internal and external managers on issues related to wildfire, prescribed fire, and fire program activities.
