{"id":35129,"date":"2020-10-29T11:34:06","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T18:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=35129"},"modified":"2020-10-29T11:34:09","modified_gmt":"2020-10-29T18:34:09","slug":"job-ms-assistantship-uconn-storrs-ct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-ms-assistantship-uconn-storrs-ct\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: MS Assistantship, UConn (Storrs, CT)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seeking highly motivated student for an MS graduate assistantship at the University of Connecticut.\u00a0 The student will be a member of the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment and the UConn Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation Center.\u00a0 The research project will quantify nest success of mallards in rural and urban development.\u00a0 The MS student will be responsible for monitoring nests and will assist with GPS collars on hen mallards to assess brood rearing habitat use.\u00a0 This project is a collaboration with CT DEEP Wildlife Division.\u00a0 Review of applicants will begin on 1 Nov 2020.\u00a0 Please email me by Nov 1st, but I will consider applications until the position is filled. Anticipated start is January 2021.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must have BS is wildlife ecology or related discipline and strong academic record. Strong quantitative skills are highly desired.\u00a0 Applicants with previous experience working in harsh field conditions, monitoring avian nests, and\/or experience handling waterfowl is preferred.
