The crew will work with landowners on stormwater resource concerns within urban and residential areas of Snohomish County and Camano Island, and in rural areas doing restoration planting and maintenance. Work will include rain garden construction, rain barrel system construction, planting, brush cutting, and other outdoor work.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Work week is Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Pay is in the form of a $2,000 monthly stipend<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Up to 5 consecutive 4-month terms<\/p>\n<p>o Term 1: March 1st &#8211; June 30th<\/p>\n<p>o Term 2: July 1st &#8211; October 31st<\/p>\n<p>o Term 3: November 1 st \u2013 December 19th (winter break), January 6th &#8211; February 20th<\/p>\n<p>o Currently accepting applications for Term 2 and 3. Crew members in good standing at the completion of Term 2 may elect to stay on for Term 3<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 All safety equipment (gloves, hard hats, eye protection, ear protection, etc.) is provided<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paid Trainings <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to full on-the-job training, this position includes several formal trainings and certifications to aid in skills development and job training.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Low Impact Development\/Green Stormwater Infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Heavy machinery operation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 CPR\/First Aid<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Dependable Strengths<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Money 101<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 VCC Annual Training<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 PTSD\/TBI\/Mental Health<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Resume\/cover letter\/job interviews Requirements<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must be a United States military veteran to be eligible for this position<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must have dependable transportation to and from the Snohomish Conservation District office<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Must be able to work Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is considered an entry level position and no experience is required. Applicants with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities will be given preference.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Currently possess or be able to obtain a valid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience working on a crew to perform time-sensitive construction projects on private and public property<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience implementing safety practices in the field with and without supervision<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience operating hand tools and power tools<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience operating heavy equipment (mini-excavator, backhoe, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Experience in landscape construction<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Able to lift up to 50-lbs<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Able to consistently perform hard labor in all outdoor conditions<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Able to take direction and work as a member of a team<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Able to operate a motor vehicle and haul a trailer<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Motivated and enthusiastic<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Comfortable speaking to landowners and other members of the public about projects<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apply <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All applicants must pass a background check.
