The Food Access\/ Distribution Intern\u2019s primary project will be expanding our current food distribution and working to enhance and eliminate barriers in food access. This project will be building on the work, and success, of the 2019-2020 UCBI intern and will work closely with farm staff, community members, and various\u00a0 community organizations to further develop a dynamic and equitable food distribution model.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The work will include a lot of networking with community organizations and partners that we currently know and wish to deepen engagement with, and working with farm staff to determine best means and model of distribution that works in tandem with and complimentary to our educational programming.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With the amount of uncertainty in how systems will change and shift based on a world that is very quickly changing, a lot of the work of the intern will have to be flexible to meet changing needs of our community and evolving models of distribution and access under a COVID and potentially post-COVID world.<\/span><\/p>\n Responsibilities<\/p>\n The student may have the opportunity to: <\/span>help apply for, track, and maintain records and communications for grant\u00a0 funding or contract purchasing with food access outlets<\/span><\/p>\n Qualifications<\/p>\n Schedule: Virtual project work is flexible. Check-ins with the project supervisor, or eventual in-person work on the 21 Acres campus, is limited to our campus schedule, Tuesday-Saturday: 9 am \u2013 4 pm. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n
