Finalize a mapping of resources and partners working on the human rights, migration, and climate change nexus in the Sahel region drawing from desk-review and interviews with key field presences and main partners in the region, as appropriate, including other UN entities, civil society organizations, national human rights institutions, national authorities and regional bodies.<\/p>\n<p>2. Develop a questionnaire for consolation with relevant partners on the human rights, migration, and climate change nexus in the Sahel region, develop a draft outline and proposed timeline for expert interviews, and conduct and analyze interviews.<\/p>\n<p>3. Develop a draft strategy for monitoring missions and data gathering on climate change, human rights and migration.<\/p>\n<p>4. Develop a draft training module on human rights, migration and climate change.<\/p>\n<p>Work Location<\/p>\n<p>Home Based<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Expected duration<\/p>\n<p>Three (3) months, with a possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this consultancy is to contribute to OHCHR\u2019s project entitled \u201cCLIMIS\u201d which seeks to address the human rights, migration and climate change nexus in the Sahel region by promoting a human rights-based and gender-sensitive approach to climate-related migration. CLIMIS foresees actions to: (1) identify human rights protection gaps in the context of migration resulting from the adverse effects of climate change in the Sahel region, (2) promote a human rights-based and gender-sensitive approach to migratory challenges posed by climate change in the Sahel region and (3) identify adaptation and mitigation measures to bridge the protection gaps and ensure a rights-based and gender-sensitive approach to the human rights, migration and climate change nexus.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications\/special skills<\/p>\n<p>Academic Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master\u2019s degree or equivalent) in environment, migration, law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field.<br \/>\nExperience: At least five (5) years of experience working on human rights, climate change and migration or related areas is required.
