Would you like to work for a progressive company dedicated to improving the environment and community infrastructure in the Inland Northwest?<\/p>\n<p>\nAlta Science and Engineering, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a mid-level Environmental Scientist\/Project Manager position experienced in environmental site assessment and remediation projects.\u00a0The position will be based in one of our Spokane, Washington or Moscow, Kellogg, or Boise, Idaho offices. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, personable, and detail-oriented individual who can work well on a team and independently, in a fast-paced environment. This is a Regular Full-Time (40 hrs\/wk) benefited position.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage a variety of environmental assessment and remediation projects: 1) lead and work with project teams; 2) develop, implement, and monitor scopes, schedules, and budgets; 3) interface with clients and regulatory agencies.<br \/>\n\u2022 Conduct environmental site assessment and remediation projects for petroleum release sites, mining impacted sites, brownfields sites, etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 Direct and\/or evaluate the analysis of environmental data to determine if risk-based standards are met or require remedial action.<br \/>\n\u2022 Conduct and\/or oversee human health and ecological risk assessment following CERCLA or state guidelines.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prepare and review quality assurance project plans, data summary and evaluation reports, human health and ecological risk assessment\/risk management reports, and other project documents.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop project scopes of work, task orders, and cost estimates.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support marketing and business development in environmental services.<br \/>\n\u2022 Foster client relationships and embody company culture.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Minimum qualifications of successful applicant:<br \/>\n\u2022 BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Toxicology, Public Health or similar; MS preferred<br \/>\n\u2022 5+ years of experience with site assessment and remediation<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 5+ years of demonstrated project management\u00a0experience<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to conduct and\/or direct human health and ecological risk assessment in support of site remediation<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with CERCLA and related federal and state regulations and guidance (e.g., Idaho REM and Washington MTCA)<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong scientific\/technical capabilities, along with organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel<br \/>\n\u2022 Valid driver&#8217;s license and insurable driving record<\/p>\n<p>Preferred qualifications:<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with environmental monitoring techniques; design of sampling programs; sampling and analytical procedures for air, soil\/sediment, indoor air and hazardous substances; and environmental remediation approaches<br \/>\n\u2022 Working knowledge and experience with laboratory methods, data validation, and chain-of-custody procedures<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience at hazardous waste and petroleum release sites (e.g., Superfund, brownfields, UST\/LUST) sites, particularly those located in the Pacific Northwest<br \/>\n\u2022 Solid knowledge of data and statistical analysis (working knowledge of R or SAS a plus)<br \/>\n\u2022 Prior working experience following CERCLA and RCRA processes<br \/>\n\u2022 Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Other information:<\/p>\n<p>Pay depends on experience and abilities<br \/>\nSubmit cover letter, resume, and contact information for three references<br \/>\nPosition will be filled after identification of suitable candidate<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for visa status<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Alta is a government contractor and equal opportunity employer of veterans, individuals with disabilities, and individuals in other protected classes.
