The mission of sound stewardship of fish and wildlife is supported by an objective to develop, integrate and disseminate the best-applied science that will be used as the foundation in policy and management decisions. The Hatchery Data Unit exists to store, process and make available WDFW fish hatchery related information to researchers, managers and the public. The Hatchery Data Section mission is to enumerate and replicate the most accurate and complete set of information and to disseminate and share inclusively and easily.<\/p>\n<p>The statewide Hatchery NPDES expert and Water Quality Lab Director directly supports WDFW\u2019s mission by supporting statewide fish hatchery activities, which provide both recreational and commercial fishing opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>This position directly influences hatchery workers, managers, biologists, administrators, and outside entities including federal agencies, tribal organizations, and the public.\u00a0 The position has organization-wide program management responsibilities and recognized as a program expert with activities on a statewide basis; supervises lower-level professional program staff; and manages activities that affect essential services within the organization.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><\/dt>\n<dt>Duties<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Administer and Manage Hatchery NPDES Permits<\/strong><br \/>\nFunctions as a statewide resource expert; manages statewide Hatchery NPDES d permit activities and reporting to maintain compliance with state and federal law and requirements.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Direct the operation of the WDFW Water Quality Lab for analysis of Total Suspended Solids.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hatchery Data Development and Planning in support of FishBooks<\/strong>\u00a0Functions as a statewide resource expert and manager of FishBooks- the web application for hatchery data entry to collect and store hatchery records.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hatchery Data Unit Supervisor<\/strong><br \/>\nManages, leads, and supervises hatchery data unit to be the most efficient and accurate system of record of hatchery data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hatchery Data Reporting<\/strong><br \/>\nPrepares and presents technical reports; assesses conservation resource potential, technologies, and options for efficiency gains or renewable application, including economic and technical feasibility of programs or projects in specialty fields; provides technical assistance and consultative service to clients in development of program activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Provide support to hatchery staff<\/strong><br \/>\nProvides support to hatchery data unit staff and customer support to Agency and other fisheries entities. Functions as team leader and member of the unit to provide support to the division, agency and co-management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions<\/strong><br \/>\nOffice work involving long periods of time using personal computer monitor and keyboard.\u00a0 Significant repetitive motion involved in regular computer use.\u00a0 \u00a0Occasional field work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work schedule 8-5, Monday \u2013 Friday.
