This course work must have included:<\/p>\n OR\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n To qualify at the 1529 series:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n A. Degree<\/strong>: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.<\/p>\n OR<\/strong><\/p>\n B. Combination of education and experience\u00a0<\/strong>— at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.<\/p>\n AND<\/p>\n SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:\u00a0<\/strong>Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.\u00a0 Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies\/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.\u00a0 This experience need not have been in the federal government.<\/p>\n Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
