Skills gained: active listening and note-taking, idea generation and thumbnail sketching, and, participation in a supportive critique of individual artwork within a virtual group setting. Participants will also be invited to submit work – and submission fees waived for a new exhibit on Orca and Salmon Co-Recovery planned for 2021. (Details to come.)

The methodology for this workshop was created by Creature Conserve artists, writers, and scientists with a specific objective: to foster more interaction between the visual arts and the living creatures that inhabit the world. We hope to inspire work that is both informed by science and emotionally charged.

ARTIST WORKSHOP: ART/SCI ORCA+SALMON CO-RECOVERY

Exploring the cultural and biological significance of southern orcas and their main food source, Chinook salmon – and, the relationship between these two endangered species and the cultural identity of the Pacific Northwest.
