The majority of this work focuses on riparian buffer restoration projects and installing in-stream bio-engineered structures. Serving as an integral member of a team of conservation professionals working primarily in the field. The position will help plan, organize, and coordinate crew members, complete field work, and assists other staff in carrying out miscellaneous grant or contract-related tasks as part of the District\u2019s annual plan of work. \u00a0This position is a member of the District\u2019s team of natural resource conservation professionals working together to enhance and protect natural resources within the District.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FTE: Full Time (40 hours\/week)<\/li>\n<li>Compensation: Starting at $15.95\/hour (depending on experience)<\/li>\n<li>Position Type: Regular (benefit eligible)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical Degree (AS\/AA) in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences or closely related field.<\/li>\n<li>Qualifying experience may substitute year-for-year for the education requirement.One (1) or more years of previous experience working as a field crew member.<\/li>\n<li>Physically able to perform field activities for extended periods of time.<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail, communication, and organization skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in operation and maintenance of field tools (i.e. chain saws, brush cutters, power tools).<\/li>\n<li>Possess a valid, unrestricted driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Washington Herbicide Applicators license, or ability to obtain within the first month of hire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience leading a restoration field crew.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of local, state, and federal conservation programs through Farm Service Agency or Natural Resources Conservation Services currently available to landowners such as EQIP, CRP, CREP, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"job-frame-how-apply\"><span class=\"how-apply-header\">HOW TO APPLY<\/span>For application instructions and complete position description, please visit:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palousecd.org\/employment\">https:\/\/www.palousecd.org\/employment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please be prepared to submit a letter of interest and a resume.
