Modern burial and\u00a0 cremation are environmentally catastrophic; our job is to provide an earth-friendly\u00a0 alternative. Adamah will be the first natural organic reduction facility in the world,\u00a0 and as such we have an unprecedented opportunity. What we do matters immensely, and we cannot wait to begin!<\/p>\n<p>Job Outline: The Operations Director will be responsible for all technical processes\u00a0 at Adamah, and is responsible for ensuring that Adamah\u2019s recomposition process\u00a0 operates smoothly and efficiently. The Operations Director will report directly to\u00a0 the CEO, with direct responsibility for the recomposition team. Because this is a\u00a0 brand-new process, the Operations Director will constantly be working to\u00a0 streamline and improve our recomposition systems.<\/p>\n<p>Business Mindset: Adamah is a new company in a brand-new sector. Every day will\u00a0 come with new challenges, problems to solve, and opportunities to add tremendous\u00a0 value. Be clear &#8211; this is not your standard, punchthe-clock, 9-5 job.<\/p>\n<p>Key Attributes: Qualified candidates will be curious risk takers, always trying to\u00a0 figure out how to tweak processes to make them better. They\u2019re comfortable with\u00a0 machinery and technical systems, and are excited at the idea of doing something\u00a0 new. The right candidate is comfortable using data to improve performance, and\u00a0 capable of communicating this information both to their team, and to senior\u00a0 management. Exceptional attention to quality, detail and deadlines is required.<\/p>\n<p>Physical Requirements: This work requires frequent lifting and moving of\u00a0 equipment, materials, and operating a front-end loader, forklift, and a variety of\u00a0 heavy machinery. Manual dexterity to safely operate equipment and tools is\u00a0 required.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<br \/>\n&#8211; BA or higher in biology, chemistry, environmental science, agriculture, or\u00a0 similar field. In special circumstances, extensive related work experience is\u00a0 acceptable in lieu of a degree.<br \/>\n&#8211; Experience working with mechanical systems, preferably\u00a0 agriculture\/compost related<br \/>\n&#8211; Knowledge of compost planning and system implementation a strong plus<br \/>\n&#8211; Proven supervisory experience a strong plus<br \/>\n&#8211; Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and ability\u00a0 to learn computer systems specific to our industry<br \/>\n&#8211; Ability to operate heavy equipment, and supervise others doing the same.<br \/>\n&#8211; Independent thinker and manager, able to work with minimal supervision<br \/>\n&#8211; Creative problem-solver, able to troubleshoot and make quick, often on-thespot decisions<\/p>\n<p>Role and Responsibilities:<br \/>\n&#8211; Contribute to the vision, mission and strategy development for all current\u00a0 and future composting operations<br \/>\n&#8211; Collaborate with senior leadership to create composting processes and\u00a0 policies, aligned with Adamah\u2019s business goals<br \/>\n&#8211; Ensure key performance indicators for department are met and develop best\u00a0 practices to maximize potential.<br \/>\n&#8211; Manage compost budget and ensure appropriate cost controls are in place<br \/>\n&#8211; Address any issues pertaining to composting or organic waste management\u00a0 as well as the health and safety of employees<br \/>\n&#8211; Ensure that all workers adhere to policies &amp; procedures<br \/>\n&#8211; Foster a culture of continual improvement<br \/>\n&#8211; Foster a culture of respect and collaborative teamwork<\/p>\n<p>Salary and Benefits: Salary will range from $75-90k depending on qualifications\u00a0and experience.
