The specialist will coordinate work with fellow staff, volunteers and consulting professionals focused on water quality issues on tribal lands on and off the Hoh Tribe Reservation and will work with tribal policy makers, staff and membership to identify and protect wetlands associated with tribal properties.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Develop and implement EPA grant funded Water Resources Program.<br \/>\n\u2022 Partner with staff from other tribes as well as non-tribal governmental and non-profit representatives to achieve water resource management and policy goals.<br \/>\n\u2022 Meet with Natural Resources Director and other project team members to collaborate efforts.<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide presentations to Tribal Members\/Council on assigned programs.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prepare reports\/drawings for submittal to Federal agencies.<br \/>\n\u2022 Submit monthly progress reports to Natural Resources Director.<br \/>\n\u2022 Performs other related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Specifications<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Must be able to perform the essential functions under the working conditions for the position. Physical surroundings are primarily in the field (woodlands, wetlands, grasslands, etc.) and may be subject to extreme conditions, including weather, pollens, dust and wildlife.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Will spend part of the time in a general office environment.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be able to travel state and nation wide for meetings, trainings and conferences, as required.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, sitting stationary, and carrying of heavy items.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be able to work flexible hours when necessary or as directed.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must adhere to the personnel policies and drug and alcohol polices.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must submit to and clear a pre-employment alcohol and drug test, and criminal background check<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Excellent written and oral communication skills, including working<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Knowledge of Windows based PC programs, including Word and Excel.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ability to become CPR\/First Aid Certified.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ability to work cooperatively and as part of a team with outside agencies, Tribal membership and co-workers.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Demonstrated organizational and group leadership skills.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ability to meet deadlines and achieve program objectives<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be able to create a fluid workplan<\/p>\n<p>Education and Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Bachelor\u2019s degree in hydrology with 1 year related experience, preferably with natural resource and\/or environmental policy development, OR<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Associates Degree in Natural Resources and 2 years\u2019 experience in hydrology and water quality.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must obtain or have a Valid Washington State Driver\u2019s License<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be able meet GSA driving requirements<br \/>\n\uf0b7 ARC\/GIS knowledge of equipment and mapping preferable.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Direct experience and proven success working with Native American culture and community preferred<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":23918,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_s2mail":"yes"},"categories":[14,15],"tags":[4,16,7,13],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/33766"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=33766"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/33766\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=33766"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=33766"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=33766"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
