\nTrap installlation, maintenance, and operation, passing adult salmon, lifting up to 15 pounds, recording data and sampling fish<\/p>\n

\nManage screens and sluice gates on large, permanent weir, passing adult salmon and steelhead, recording data, biological sampling.<\/p>\n
\nTasks include:<\/b>
\nTrap installation, maintenance, and operation, passing adult salmon, lifting up to 15 pounds, recording data and sampling fish.<\/p>\n

\nUsing notebooks, scale cards, and digital applications such as excel and access to enter and manage data and biological samples.\u00a0 Ability to produce summary tables and graphs to share with staff and interested parties in \u2013 season.<\/p>\n

\nConduct spawning surveys for summer chum, coho, and steelhead over a variety of flow and weather conditions<\/p>\n
\nFrom Sept through January, generally 5 eight-hour shifts, but flexible around fish\u00a0movement and weather.\u00a0 From February through April, nights, 4 on and four off. Travel locally to various traps.\u00a0 Minimal, with occasional members of public, NGO\u2019s and volunteers visiting or assisting in operations.<\/p>\n
\nThis position is in the bargaining unit represented by the Washington Association of Fish & Wildlife Professionals and is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the State of Washington, Department of Fish & Wildlife, and the Washington Association of Fish & Wildlife Professionals.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOR
\nGraduate from high school or GED including one year of high school science and two years of laboratory experience or field experience as an assistant to a biologist, chemist or zoologist.<\/p>\n
\nKnowledge of adult and juvenile trapping and survey methods for salmon.
\nExperience with spawning ground surveys, data collection, management, and summaries.
\nExperience biologically sampling salmonids.<\/p>\n
\nAbility to conduct surveys under strenuous conditions in inclement weather, working days or nights depending on season.
\nExperience with MS Excel and Access applications<\/p>\n\n
\nPursuant to the Governor’s Directive, 20-08, this position will be subject to one furlough day per week through July 25, 2020, ad one day per month beginning August 1, 2020, through November 30, 2020.<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n
