The GIZ project \u201cClimate Policy Meets Urban Development<\/strong>\u201d invites you to join this three-part webinar series which looks at support mechanisms for local climate action and discusses urban multi-level climate governance in Germany and internationally. The\u00a0<\/strong>series will take\u00a0place from July to October and you can find an overview of all dates and topics in the flyer attached.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

1st<\/sup>\u00a0Webinar: The German multi-level climate support architecture<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

The series will kick off with its\u00a0first webinar on 7 July 2020, 3-4 pm (CEST\/UTC+2).<\/strong>\u00a0The session will introduce Germany\u2019s multi-level governance framework with a focus on the German National Climate Initiative (NCI) and its mechanisms to foster local climate projects:<\/p>\n

\n

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Dr. Andrea Fischer-Hotzel,\u00a0<\/strong>research fellow at the German Institute of Urban Affairs, will introduce the work of the Service and Competence Centre for Municipal Climate Protection (SK:KK), which is responsible for the coordination and steering of NCI-funded projects and acts as link between the national and local level.<\/p>\n

\n

\u00d8\u00a0\u00a0Regine Wosnitza<\/strong>, project leader at Berlin Tempelhof-Sch\u00f6neberg, will offer practical experience of municipal NCI implementation presenting\u00a0 the Berlin project \u201cKiez (er)Fahren\u201d which aims to transition Berlin\u2019s Sch\u00f6neberg Nord into a climate-friendly multi-mobility neighbourhood through a local \u201cVerkehrswende\u201d (transformation of transportation).<\/p>\n

During the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to provide live feedback through polls and to ask questions during the Q&A session.<\/p>\n
