About the Clark Conservation District<\/p>\n
Since 1942, Clark Conservation District (Clark CD) has worked with individuals and communities to conserve and manage water quality, soils, and natural habitats for the benefit of the public. Clark CD provides technical, financial, and educational resources to meet the needs of the local landowner for the conservation of our resources. We are\u00a0non-regulatory\u00a0and 100%\u00a0grant-funded.\u00a0Clark CD is a legal sub- division of state government enabled under statute is RCW Chapter 89.08 et seq.<\/p>\n
Primary Job Responsibilities<\/p>\n
The AmeriCorps Member will serve agricultural and forest landowners in Clark County and forest landowners in Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties. The Member will create brochures and outreach material and conduct workshops to help educate residents about natural resource concerns. The Member will plan and facilitate events, train and educate community members, and expand workshop and outreach offerings in the three counties. The Member will identify farm and forestry parcels to target outreach efforts towards. They will expand program offerings to community members and will leverage relationships with partner organizations.<\/p>\n
Major duties include the following:<\/p>\n
\u2022<\/span>Outreach and education.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Manage Facebook page and website.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Create digital and print outreach material including pamphlets, workshop advertisements, and educational material for the District\u2019s website.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Perform windshield surveys of agricultural and forestry parcels.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Connect local farm and forestry communities to available and new resources.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Track, evaluate, and report activities to demonstrate impact.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Operate standard office equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Other duties as assigned by the District Manager or Board of Supervisors.<\/span><\/p>\n Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Possess a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Possess a valid driver\u2019s license and current vehicle insurance at time of hire and throughout employment.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Pass a\u00a0<\/span>job-related\u00a0driving record check and criminal background investigation.<\/p>\n Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Possess bachelor\u2019s degree in a natural resource related field.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Experience with outreach including\u00a0<\/span>web-based\u00a0outreach.<\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Excellent oral and written communication skills, including teaching or public presentation experience.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Works well independently and effectively manages multiple tasks.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2022<\/span>Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.<\/span><\/p>\n
