They will also be responsible for identifying and applying for funding sources to continue assessment and restoration work within the U&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p17 ft10\">This position will require a great deal of coordination between federal and state agencies as well as public outreach related to restoration activity. Additionally, the candidate will represent the Tribe on technical committees and forums for the protection of Treaty resources as directed by the supervisor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p18 ft14\">ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p19 ft16\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft15\">Manage the ongoing\u00a0<\/span>large-scale\u00a0restoration work being competed on the Quillayute River.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p20 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Develop and implement restoration projects within the Tribe\u2019s U&amp;A.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p20 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Identifying and applying for grant funding sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p21 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Grant management includes, but is not limited to, the development and management of budgets, contracts, identifying funding sources, communication between agencies and within the Tribe, and contractors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p20 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Securing all appropriate permits associated with projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p22 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Attend an assortment of meetings to represent the Quileute Tribe\u2019s natural resources to a variety of entities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p23 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Other duties as assigned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p24 ft11\"><span class=\"ft14\">WORK ENVIRONMENT<\/span>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p25 ft10\">The Habitat Restoration Biologist will have their own office located within Quileute Natural Resources (401 Main St. La Push, WA). During the construction season applicants should anticipate working in remote areas in adverse weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p14 ft14\">PHYSICAL DEMANDS:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p26 ft16\">This position requires working outdoors and in inclement weather for extended periods of time. The applicant must be physically able to carry a 40 lb backpack and work in remote forest<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"page_3\">\n<p class=\"p27 ft16\">environments on uneven terrain. Additionally, the applicant must have the ability to sit and work at computer workstation for several hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p14 ft14\">SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES<\/p>\n<p class=\"p28 ft16\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft15\">Must have basic GIS and GPS skillsets, and be able to create maps and manage data in the program. Advanced GIS knowledge is desired.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p20 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Must be able to use Microsoft software (Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p29 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Knowledge of current NW salmon stock management practices, with an understanding of tribal fishery management issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p30 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Demonstrated knowledge of riverine fisheries biology or hydrology with preferred experience in the salmon and steelhead stocks of the Quillayute U&amp;A.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p31 ft10\"><span class=\"ft10\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft17\">Must have working experience designing, implementing, and analyzing field data research projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p32 ft12\"><span class=\"ft12\">\u2219<\/span><span class=\"ft18\">Familiarity of ESA habitat consultation and permitting, experience with permit preparation for Army Corp permits, WA State HPA program, or local critical area ordinances.
