I\u2019m contacting you to request your help with a project designed to support the rapid expansion of renewable energy called for by the Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) of 2019. Specifically, I\u2019m hoping you can recommend a student or recent graduate who would be interested in working on a project to assess the impacts of renewable energy development in Washington state.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC) is partnering with the WA Department of Commerce on a project (funded by the Department of Defense) called the Washington State Compatible Energy Siting Assessment (CESA). The project will build mapping and other tools to foster early and ongoing civilian-military coordination around renewable energy development. The goal is to avoid conflict and delays by finding win-win solutions that promote renewable energy siting, while preserving military mission viability.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

The intern works under the direction of the EFSEC Manager.\u00a0 Tasks include working with other Project team members to develop a report and gather data on the renewable energy market.\u00a0 This work will include:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\u2022<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Review\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>market fo<\/span>r\u00a0<\/span>major transmission facilities needed to support renewables.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Review the state of renewable energy technology<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Identification of alternative energy concerns, future energy development analysis, and future impact<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>assessmen<\/span>t.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Site selection review criteria used by the renewable energy industry<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Evaluate locations in the state with a high potential for renewable energy production.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Other specific tasks related to this project may be assigned.\u00a0 This is a part time project position that is expected to last at least 6-12 months.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
