With an expected leadership transition to occur in summer 2020, the Executive Director serves as the chief executive and reports to the Council. Established as an interstate compact, the Council has an annual $12M budget and is supported by 40+ professional staff. \u00a0The ED assumes broad organizational oversight and works with Council members and staff to ensure execution\u00a0of its statutory responsibilities and strategic priorities, which include developing a fish and wildlife program for the Columbia River Basin and a 20-year regional power plan. The ED works collaboratively across the disciplines of energy and natural resources, and with stakeholders that include state, federal and tribal governments; fish and wildlife managers; public and private utilities, electric and natural resource conservation groups; public interest organizations and the Bonneville Power Administration.<\/p>\n<p>A successful candidate will bring substantial leadership, administrative and board experience; deep familiarity with public policy development and \u00a0political processes; and facilitative, consensus-building skills that enhance the Council\u2019s work across both the region&#8217;s energy and fish and wildlife sectors. \u00a0A candidate with the appetite, energy and affinity for building trust-based relationships must work effectively with the Council, technical and policy-focused staff, and a variety of stakeholder interests.
