The United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination, at its 2011 Spring Session, committed to mainstreaming disaster risk reduction in the programmes and operations of the UN system through the development of a common agenda, and to raise disaster risk reduction to the highest political support. UNISDR (United Nation Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) Strategic Framework (2016-2021) was guided by supporting countries and societies in its implementation, monitoring and review of progress; the prevention of new and reduction of existing disaster risk and strengthening resilience through successful multi-hazard disaster risk management.<\/p>\n
