Position Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\nThe Riparian Restoration Field Crew Member\u2019s primary purpose is to complete field work for the 2020 field season. The position is highly physical, field-based position responsible for performing tasks that support riparian restoration projects throughout the Palouse Conservation District. Crew members will work Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day. Field season typically starts in early summer and continues into fall, as work is needed. Start and end dates are flexible but preferred start date is Monday, May 4th.<\/p>\n
Crew members are supplied with personal protective equipment (PPE) and field appropriate gear, such as waders and rain gear. Upon hire, crew members must supply their own work boots and come dressed for the job.<\/p>\n

- FTE: Full Time (40 hours\/week)<\/li>\n
- Compensation: Starting at $13.50\/hour<\/li>\n
- Position Type: Temporary (non-benefits eligible)<\/li>\n
- Sick pay will be earned at the rate of 1 hour per 40 hours worked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Primary duties include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Implementing riparian restoration work under direction of the Field Crew Leader<\/li>\n
- Planting native trees and shrubs<\/li>\n
- Mechanical and chemical weed control, including mixing and spraying herbicides<\/li>\n
- Operating and maintaining hand tools and small engine machinery<\/li>\n
- Harvesting plant materials<\/li>\n
- Installing wood\/post structures in streams<\/li>\n
- Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Valid, unrestricted driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n
- Physically able to work on steep slopes and rough terrain.<\/li>\n
- Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.<\/li>\n
- Physically able to plant for extended periods.<\/li>\n
- Ability to adapt and think independently in changing conditions.<\/li>\n
- Willingness to participate as part of team.<\/li>\n
- Must possess a positive work ethic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
