Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Crew will perform maintenance tasks at developed and dispersed recreation sites. Maintaining and restoring sites that visitors use for recreational purposes helps to prevent erosion and minimize impact on the land. Facilities maintenance is a necessary way to minimize sanitation impacts throughout the forest. Crew will educate visitors on Leave No Trace principles that will reduce negative impacts on the Skykomish watershed. The Crew will spend their summer alongside the Forest Service and they will be exposed to the diverse range of career opportunities within the US Forest Service.<\/p>\n<p>Assigned duties will include the following:<br \/>\n-maintaining campgrounds,\u00a0trailheads and dispersed recreation sites in the Skykomish Ranger District<br \/>\n-visitor contact<br \/>\n-collecting data<br \/>\n-cleaning restrooms<br \/>\n-removing litter<br \/>\n&#8211; landscaping, yards and grounds maintenance<\/p>\n<p>Compensation amounts:<br \/>\n&#8211; $1 100- one time RT travel allowance<br \/>\n&#8211; $150 &#8211; weekly living allowance<br \/>\n&#8211; AmeriCorps eligible ($1,612 education award)<\/p>\n<p>*All allowances subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"main-extras\">\n<li><label>Location Description<\/label>\n<div>The Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest spans the grand Cascade mountain range in Washington state.Town of Skykomish is approximately 1 \u00bd hours northeast of Seattle on State Route 2. The town has a library, gas station, deli, and restaurant. Bunkhouse is located one mile south of the ranger station.
