This permanent position is well suited for an individual that is looking to advance their career in natural resources consulting and gain\u00a0hands-on\u00a0experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2 ft2\">Based within our Hood River, OR office, you will work closely with small teams to design and implement studies within the fields of groundwater resources, habitat restoration, and mine reclamation. Responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Apply knowledge of hydrologic processes and use data sets to describe unsaturated flow, groundwater recharge and groundwater movement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Numerical groundwater and unsaturated flow modeling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Undertake field work for investigative and monitoring purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Interpret data to assess and predict the impact of land use activities on soil and groundwater quality and resource availability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Communicate with other hydrogeologists, hydrologists, ecologists, engineers and other professionals in related fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Create reports for clients which can be understood by people who don\u2019t necessarily have a technical background.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p8 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Work within established health and safety guidelines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9 ft2\">The position requires:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p10 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">MS in Soil Science or Hydrology or other Natural Sciences field and minimum of 2 years of experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p11 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Excellent writing skills and knowledge of standard computer software (i.e. MS Office).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p11 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Experience in<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p12 ft1\"><span class=\"ft4\">o<\/span><span class=\"ft5\">GIS analysis;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p13 ft1\"><span class=\"ft4\">o<\/span><span class=\"ft5\">numerical modeling;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p13 ft1\"><span class=\"ft4\">o<\/span><span class=\"ft5\">field data collection; data analysis and report writing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p14 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Willingness to engage in business development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p14 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Travel to project sites ranging from the western USA to South America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p11 ft1\"><span class=\"ft1\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft3\">Independent thinking and the ability to work with minimal supervision.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p15 ft1\">Written and spoken fluency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p16 ft1\">GeoSystems Analysis, Inc. offers a very competitive salary, excellent health insurance, SIMPLE IRA benefits and opportunity to progress into a higher role.
