The position has the lead responsibility for coordinating the Water Quality Monitoring Program, which serves 450 students with\u00a0in-class\u00a0and\u00a0field-based\u00a0experiences. This position also manages volunteer outreach, training, and events in partnership with other watershed organizations (Nisqually Land Trust, Nisqually Indian Tribe, and others) working on citizen science, monitoring, and environmental recovery projects. This is a\u00a0full-time\u00a0position with occasional weekend and evening work required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3 ft2\">Duties:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft1\">Coordinate\u00a0K-12\u00a0Water Quality Monitoring Program (lead):<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Recruit and train teachers and volunteers<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Coordinate field trips, including scheduling with schools and landowners for site access<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Maintain and update water quality database, website, maps<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Provide curriculum and resources to teachers<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Work with AmeriCorps member on\u00a0<\/span>in-class\u00a0lessons and field trips<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Coordinate annual Student GREEN Congress event, including recruiting and training volunteers, presenters, and teachers and preparing student tools<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Inventory and maintain supplies<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft1\">Support Nisqually Stream Stewards Volunteer Program:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Work with partners to schedule, publicize, and coordinate volunteer events for Nisqually Stream Stewards and Nisqually River Education Project programs<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p8 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Maintain volunteer website and social media pages, including event announcements, photos, and blog posts<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Maintain volunteer contact lists and serve as primary point of contact for volunteers<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Work with NREP Director to coordinate Nisqually Stream Stewards volunteer training program<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Track volunteer hours and participation for internal and external reporting<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft1\">Assist with Nisqually River Education Project programs:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p10 ft1\">Habitat restoration, salmon nutrient enhancement, Eye On Nature field investigations, Nearshore field studies, Summer Institute for Teachers<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Lead field trips and teach\u00a0<\/span>hands-on\u00a0ecology lessons<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Co-lead<\/span>\u00a0teacher and volunteer workshops<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Support grant writing and reporting needs<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Support publicity and outreach for NREP programs<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p11 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Provide logistical support for events including setting up venues, tools\/supplies, and refreshments<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft1\">Assist in additional NRF Programs:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p12 ft1\">Nisqually Watershed Festival, Nisqually River Council meetings, monthly blog posts, Thurston ECO Network meetings, community tabling and outreach<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"page_2\">\n<p class=\"p4 ft2\">Qualifications<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3 ft1\">Required Experience:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Environmental education and\/or science field work<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Microsoft Suite, Google Suite<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent life experience<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Working outdoors with groups of children<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft1\"><span class=\"ft3\">\u25cf<\/span><span class=\"ft4\">Valid driver\u2019s license and
