HCSEG is located at the Salmon Center in Belfair, WA. For more information about HCSEG and the Salmon Center, please visit our website at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pnwsalmoncenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.pnwsalmoncenter.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:<\/strong>\u00a0The Shellfish and Water Quality Project Manager supports HCSEG\u2019s mission by developing, funding and implementing salmon and shellfish restoration projects throughout Hood Canal. All members of the HCSEG staff work collaboratively with other staff across program and project areas and are expected to use their unique skills and abilities to jointly further the mission of the organization. The Shellfish and Water Quality Project Manager will work closely with HCSEG\u2019s existing Project Managers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties Include, but Are Not Limited to:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Lead HCSEG\u2019s water quality sampling efforts<br \/>\n\u25cf Water Quality lab accreditation paperwork and sample submission<br \/>\n\u25cf Water sample analysis<br \/>\n\u25cf Work with HCSEG staff and partners to identify, fund, and execute restoration and water quality projects<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist other project managers with ongoing projects<br \/>\n\u25cf Assist Executive Director with the acquisition of properties related to restoration projects<br \/>\n\u25cf Participate in Lead Entity grant review processes as needed<br \/>\n\u25cf Work independently and collaboratively to write and submit grant applications for high-priority projects<br \/>\n\u25cf Track project budgets to effectively and efficiently manage projects<br \/>\n\u25cf Regularly communicate progress to staff, board, partners, landowners, and community<br \/>\n\u25cf Deliver public presentations and tours with other HCSEG staff to funders, partners, members, donors, and<br \/>\ncommunity groups<br \/>\n\u25cf Lead volunteers and work crews in the field to accomplish tasks<br \/>\n\u25cf Other tasks as needed<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Minimum education: A Bachelor\u2019s degree in related field<br \/>\n2. Minimum 2 year\u2019s experience working in water quality and\/or shellfish ecology<br \/>\n3. Knowledge of local shellfish ecology, habitats and restoration techniques.<br \/>\n4. Knowledge of water quality sampling techniques and\/or lab experience<br \/>\n5. Strong team leader with proven ability to motivate others<br \/>\n6. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities<br \/>\n7. Organized, self-motivated and strong attention to detail<br \/>\n8. Diplomatic problem solving skills<br \/>\n9. Good natured team player, comfortable working with diverse groups of people<br \/>\n10. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs<br \/>\n11. Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions including hiking up streams, planting trees,<br \/>\nwading through moving water and lifting up to 50 lbs.<br \/>\n12. Access to personal vehicle<br \/>\n13. Ability to work evenings and weekends<br \/>\n14. Current valid driver\u2019s license<br \/>\n15. Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol background check<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Skills and Demonstrated Interests:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Experience using databases<br \/>\n2. Experience working in the Hood Canal\/Puget Sound area<br \/>\n3. Relevant work experience in funding\/implementing habitat restoration projects, managing consultants and<br \/>\ncontracts, grant writing, and landowner\/stakeholder outreach<br \/>\n4.
