The ideal candidate will have experience with school and community outreach, project management, resource conservation education, business development and consulting. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with diverse audiences and demonstrate an understanding of environmental justice concepts, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4 ft2\">RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5 ft6\">Project Management<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Manage multiple resource conservation and community outreach related projects. This includes development of content, scopes and budgets and working closely with clients and the Triangle project team(s) to identify, discuss, and review project outcomes and progress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7 ft10\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft9\">Understand Triangle\u2019s role as a consultant and demonstrate a thorough understanding of client priorities when developing materials and representing clients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">With minimal supervision, draft and produce\u00a0<\/span>client-ready\u00a0documents of all types, including but not limited to: proposals, school curriculum, newsletters, evaluations, training materials, and other outreach and education materials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7 ft10\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft9\">Conduct\u00a0<\/span>in-house\u00a0workshop and outreach trainings and coach employees on teaching methods, classroom management techniques, and client messaging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p8 ft6\">Direct Outreach and Technical Assistance<\/p>\n<p class=\"p9 ft3\"><span class=\"ft11\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft12\">In addition to project management and team oversight, this position will provide direct outreach and assistance to schools via\u00a0<\/span>in-person\u00a0visits, phone, and email regarding waste reduction and recycling, and energy and water conservation. This requires:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p10 ft3\"><span class=\"ft13\">o\u00a0<\/span>Providing basic group facilitation skills for school teams, including teachers, students, principals, custodians, and parents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p11 ft3\"><span class=\"ft13\">o\u00a0<\/span>Preparing detailed written communication following site visits and meetings with strong attention to detail and an expectation of professional writing capabilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p12 ft3\"><span class=\"ft13\">o\u00a0<\/span>Conducting waste audits and providing recommendations to institutions implementing conservation programs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p13 ft3\"><span class=\"ft13\">o\u00a0<\/span>Speaking at environmental symposiums and custodial trainings and communicating with school district personnel to implement conservation practices at schools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p14 ft3\"><span class=\"ft11\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft12\">Provide community outreach and present classroom workshops on a variety of environmental topics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p15 ft6\">Supervisory Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p class=\"p16 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Supervise and mentor education team staff, including regular feedback, establishing professional goals, monitoring performance, and conducting evaluations.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"page_2\">\n<p class=\"p17 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Demonstrate \u201cthoughtful leadership\u201d skills with staff and clients, including being able to understand and make decisions based on the big picture, considering what is best for the team, company, budget, and the client, and maintaining a\u00a0<\/span>solution-oriented\u00a0attitude, particularly when facing challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p18 ft6\">Business Development<\/p>\n<p class=\"p19 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Assist senior staff to respond to requests for information from public and private organizations, write proposals, assist with project interviews and track useful marketing information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p19 ft10\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft9\">Generate new ideas for and participate in business development meetings and independently follow up as needed (marketing calls, emails, proposal writing, and oversight).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p20 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Represent Triangle in an accurate and professional manner at conferences and networking events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p18 ft2\">QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p class=\"p21 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Experience as a project manager of various sized projects working as the primary contact with the client and managing teams (experience with consulting a plus though not required).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p22 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience providing community outreach and\/or working with youth ages\u00a0<\/span>6-18\u00a0(teaching in a classroom setting preferred). Relevant volunteer or academic experience may substitute for work experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p23 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Background knowledge and expertise in resource conservation topics such as waste reduction, recycling, water conservation, watershed protection, and renewable energy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p24 ft10\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft9\">Clear, written, and verbal communication skills with attention to detail as well as excellent organizational and\u00a0<\/span>self-managing\u00a0skills.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p25 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Demonstrated ability to work with diverse students and adults in a dynamic, respectful, rigorous, creative,\u00a0<\/span>culturally-responsive,\u00a0and enthusiastic way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p17 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Working knowledge of school communities, including proficiency with school technology (SMART boards, projectors) and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and proficiency with some graphics and design programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p26 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">A reliable car, valid Washington State driver\u2019s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance covering bodily injury and property damage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p27 ft3\"><span class=\"ft7\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"ft8\">Must be available to work during school hours with possible early travel start times (between 6 AM and 5 PM) with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
