General Description<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Non-profit\u00a0Exploratory Internship is a competitive position that is course aligned for a graduate<\/p>\n

student to rotate through the departments at the Pacific Education Institute which may include HR, Finance, Development, Program, Policy and Communications. The\u00a0Non-profit\u00a0Exploratory Intern will be<\/p>\n

assigned a variety of projects to support the work of the organization and reports to the Director of Finance and HR. This position does not work directly with students.<\/p>\n

Primary Responsibilities<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Work with the Director of Finance and HR to determine which PEI Departments are in alignment with course work for each semester.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Depending on alignment the intern will work in\u00a0<\/span>2-3\u00a0of the following Departments with the listed<\/p>\n

responsibilities:<\/p>\n

o\u00a0<\/span>Communication: Support the Communication Coordinator on communication<\/p>\n

projects including media campaigns, social media, newsletters and articles.<\/p>\n

o\u00a0<\/span>Development: Support the Development Director and Development Coordinator on<\/p>\n

development projects including annual appeal, events, database maintenance.<\/p>\n

o\u00a0<\/span>Non-profit\u00a0Policy: Support the Executive Director and the Legislative Liaison to review, analyze and prepare documents for policy negotiations. Attend and take notes at<\/p>\n

policy meetings. Support policy outreach and legislative campaigns.<\/p>\n

o\u00a0<\/span>Program Department: Support the Program Director and Program Coordinator in program logistics. Database maintenance (Salesforce), verification and analysis of workshop attendance, online registration process, education materials revision and<\/p>\n

development.<\/p>\n

o\u00a0<\/span>Finance Department: Support the Finance Director with daily deposit verification, report preparation, reconciliations of accounts and credit card statements, budget<\/p>\n

preparation and budget reports.<\/p>\n

o\u00a0<\/span>HR Department: Support the HR Director in Human Resource projects. Manage staff gatherings including meetings, mini workshops and trainings, research and coordinate diversity activities, assist with creating culture and diversity surveys.<\/p>\n

Desired Qualifications<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Ideal candidates will be earning a masters degree in Public Administration,<\/span>Non-profit\u00a0Management, Public Policy or similar course of study.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Minimum of 3 years experience in related positions<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Excellent communication, interpersonal relations and writing skills<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Commitment to accuracy in work product and able to\u00a0<\/span>multi-task<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Organized and takes initiative to problem solve<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u2022<\/span>Maintains a positive, punctual and professional demeanor while being able to work flexibly in an inclusive team environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span>Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Canva.<\/span><\/p>\n
