{"id":299,"date":"2025-09-26T00:26:56","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T00:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesthesis\/?p=299"},"modified":"2025-10-24T23:47:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T23:47:10","slug":"thesis-ideas-with-port-of-grapeview-and-mason-lake-management-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesthesis\/2025\/09\/26\/thesis-ideas-with-port-of-grapeview-and-mason-lake-management-district\/","title":{"rendered":"Thesis Ideas with Port of Grapeview and Mason Lake Management District"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mason Lake is located between Belfair and Shelton just off Route 3.\u00a0 The proposal is to start a water quality sampling program on the Lake that would go on for at least 10 years; a sustainable study that could be handed down from graduate student to graduate student.\u00a0 The intent of the study is to determine why over recent years there have been cyanobacterial blooms during winter months and why invasive water plant species are thriving so well in the lake.\u00a0\u00a0 This would be a great study for students interested in water quality both in freshwater and marine as well as limnology ecology.\u00a0 It could possibly work into an intern program for students.\u00a0 Funding sources would need to be determined. This study could easily spawn into full inventor thesis studies of the lake flora and fauna.
