Larry is owner and Principal Ecologist of EcoAssets Environmental, a full-service environmental consulting company based in Olympia, WA. After the MES program Larry spent 20 years in public service with various state and federal natural resource agencies as a fisheries, aquatic and marine scientist. In 2006 Larry began forming the model for an international environmental NGO call Ecologists Without Borders. Based on his Peace Corps experience in West Africa and various overseas trips, he developed an operational framework and established the Trademark. In 2010-2011 he was joined by two colleagues to formalize the founding and the organization sponsors projects globally. In recent trips to wartime Ukraine and in a return trip to his Peace Corps stomping grounds, Liberia, West Africa, he has established some projects working with local governments in river restoration and citywide waste management programs. A favorite part of his career was to be an adjunct faculty at the MES Program for several years – the most rewarding part has been seeing students end up in fisheries and aquatic resources professions fed by the passions of our MES elective on salmon ecology and Pacific Northwest forests.
