Greetings, MES Greeners,
I am the oldest MES graduate. I started the program 12 years after I retired. I had learned a good deal about the science of climate change, but felt that I was missing something. The MES program did an excellent job of filling in the part I had been missing – mainly that climate change is not simply a science issue, but is actually a human issue, caused by humans. To be effective, we must deal with climate change through all the different human areas of study, such as sociology, political science, economics, history, psychology, business, etc. As a retiree, I have not sought employment. However, there are so many excellent volunteer organizations in many different environmental areas that we can pick from. Three of my favorites are: Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL), Climate Reality Project (CPR), and League of Women Voters (LWV).
